One of my favorite things to do as the weather gets warmer in San Diego is taking my beach cruiser over to Coronado Island and going for a long ride! If the wind isn’t too crazy, my boyfriend and I will go all the way down Silverstrand to Imperial Beach. This is several miles long, so in addition to having the wind on your side, you need quite a bit of time. This week has been too gusty, so we just cruised around the island. Taking off from Broadway Pier at the San Diego Embarcadero, Flagship SD’s ferry, the Cabrillo, takes you across the bay and drops you off at Coronado’s ferry landing.
My first stop of the day is right off the boat at Miss Match, a chic little boutique with elegant, beach-friendly duds. Purchasing a cute dress always puts an extra spring in my step, or in this case, a little push in my tush!

From ferry landing, we leisurely peddled through the gorgeous neighborhood, admiring the picturesque and eclectic homes that populate the island.
This particular route took us to the beach – named one Travel Channel’s Top Ten Beaches in Southern California.

Winding our way back around the golf course and Glorietta Bay, our hearty appetites took us to Nicky Rotten’s for a late lunch. This is the restaurant where my boyfriend and I met, so not only does it bring back fun memories, it still has the same AMAZING food. After pretzels with beer cheese and 2 gourmet burgers, we headed down Orange Avenue for one last jaunt to burn off those burgers. Passing boutiques, movie theaters, and more lovely restaurants, our last stop was Moo-Time, a dandy old-fashioned creamery – the perfect way to close out a beach-cruisin’ day.

I highly recommend Coronado for a fairly inexpensive summer date or Girl’s Day Out!
